Technologist works independently performing routine, emergent, and specialized procedures with responsibility for protocols, patient care, and magnet safety. Receives and reviews requests from physicians and other health care providers for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) examinations of patients. Determines the condition(s) at issue and the procedures and equipment necessary to best meet the needs of the individual case. Receives and positions patient for examination. Explains procedures and actions to allay fears and secure maximum cooperation of patients, family members, and non-MRI staff.
