Prepare a variety of reports and records related to dental activities. Schedule appointments for treatment. Record proper documentation of patient information. Sterilize instruments, materials, and equipment; prepare surgical trays. Maintain dental equipment in a clean and operative condition. Take preliminary impressions; pour and trim models from impressions; and construct base plates and bite rims. Relay dentist's instructions to patients for post-treatment care such as application of hot or cold packs or medications. Instruct lower graded dental assistants on these procedures as necessary.
