Dispense pharmaceuticals to outpatients. Verify the prescribed medication is within safe dosage ranges, that components and additives needed are correctly identified. Review and check for correctness of all products prepared by Certified Pharmacy Technicians or otherwise designated personnel prior to issue. Counsel patients regarding their prescribed medications, administration, signs of reaction, and related matters. Compound, prepare, or select and label prescribed drugs and pharmaceuticals from available stocks to provide the required therapeutic agent.
