Duties for this position include, but are not limited to: Performs consultations, including history and physical examinations during in-person, telephone and virtual encounters. Provides ongoing outpatient care for assigned patients in accordance to VHA policies and evidence-based treatment guidelines. Screens outpatients to determine need for further care. Prescribes medications within defined scope of practice. Orders diagnostic studies. (e.g. x-rays, lab tests, ECG). Initiates and expedites requests for consultations and scheduling special tests and studies. Enters notes on procedures performed for which the NP is responsible.
